SAGINAW, MI — Police have executed numerous search warrants in Saginaw County this week, seizing guns and drugs.
On Monday, May 23, personnel with the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team, or BAYANET, executed one search warrant related to an investigation into crystal methamphetamine, said unit commander Lt. Patrick Darrow.
No arrests were made but drugs were seized, the lieutenant said.
Then, early on the morning of Wednesday, May 25, BAYANET executed four search warrants in Saginaw County and one in Pontiac. All five are connected to an ongoing investigation into a suspected heroin-dealing organization, Darrow said.
Police seized guns and drugs in the Wednesday searches but did not make arrests, Darrow said.
Darrow could not release additional details, such as the specific locations of the raids, due to the investigations’ ongoing nature.
Once the investigations are complete, police will forward their reports to the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review and issuance of possible criminal charges.
“We’re still working on them,” Darrow said. “We’re doing our best to squash these drugs from coming in here. It takes a lot of time and effort.”
