A couple of weeks after parting ways with the New York Giants, cornerback James Bradberry expressed some of his feelings about his release from his former team before finding his way to another NFC East squad, the Philadelphia Eagles (h/t Justin Tasch of the New York Post).

“First of all, I understand it’s a business. I was putting my business cap on first and understanding that I’m an asset. So I understand that they want something for me, so that was part of the game,” Bradberry told reporters. “Personally, didn’t necessarily like it, but it’s a business at the end of the day and I understand that.”

There's really nothing new about a player airing out a bit of their frustration over separation from a team, and Bradberry certainly isn't the only one who got released from his team this offseason because of financial reasons. By letting Bradberry go, the Giants managed to save over $10 million. It's probably not an easy decision for the Giants to make, considering that Bradberry just had a Pro Bowl season in 2020 and is coming off a 2021 NFL campaign in which he had a career-high four interceptions.

Fortunately for Bradberry, he was able to land on a new team right away, signing a one-year deal with the Eagles last May that's worth $7.25 million. In any case, he must have games against the Giants in the upcoming 2022 NFL season. circled on his calendar
