Liverpool Fans Think Jurgen Klopp 'Hates' Gareth Southgate Following LMA Presentation

"Klopp proper hates Southgate."

Liverpool fans think Jurgen Klopp 'hates' England boss Gareth Southgate following their interaction at the League Managers Association's ceremony.

Klopp collected the LMA Manager of the Year award and the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy at Tuesday's event.

The former Manchester United manager made the presentation to the Liverpool boss - with Southgate also on stage.

Klopp and Sir Alex embraced and enjoyed a wholesome moment, but the German appeared to be less receptive to Southgate.

And his supposed snub of Southgate didn't go unnoticed by Liverpool supporters online.

One Twitter user wrote: "What manager wants to waste a second talking to Southgate when FERGIE is there???"

A second tweeted: "funny how Klopp don't give damn about Southgate."

A third added: "Love Klopp not giving a shit about Southgate being there."

Klopp and Southgate haven't necessarily seen eye-to-eye over the years.

The Liverpool manager fumed over the England gaffer's decision not to name Trent Alexander-Arnold for one of his England squads.

And he took exception to Joe Gomez's snub last year.

Speaking after receiving the prestigious LMA award, Klopp said: "This being voted for by my colleagues is obviously the most important prize you can get.

"I don’t believe in individual prizes in football generally, it is a team sport and I would be nothing without these boys there. It is all about what we can do together and what we did together."

Klopp, whose already bagged the EFL Cup and FA Cup this season, will look to complete a cup treble as his side face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Saturday.
