Penn State football news and updates for May 25 include a decision date for three-star defensive end Mason Robinson, a top schools list for four-star corner Jaylon Braxton, and more recruiting notes to know.

Let’s dive into the top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics on Wednesday.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with recruiting.

Owing Mills, Md., McDonogh Class of 2023 prospect Mason Robinson will pick between 17 schools on Friday. Surprisingly, Northwestern is now the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite to land the defender after a pick for the Wildcats was placed by BWI recruiting insider Ryan Snyder on Tuesday night. The Big Ten West program just hosted Robinson for an official visit. It turns out that it may be his last one. But, stay tuned, as he has others scheduled still despite his plans to decide.

In other announcement news, four-star Pittsburgh receiver Rodney Gallagher decides today. However, West Virginia is expected to be the pick per the On3 RPM.

Elsewhere on the recruiting front, four-star Frisco, Tex., corner Jaylon Braxton has a top eight. Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Penn State, and TCU all made the cut. He will take official visits to see the Spartans and Cal before deciding. However, the Baylor Bears currently have the RPM lead.

Finally, for this section, two new offers went out on Tuesday. The Lions are now in the mix for two Class of 2025 players: Offensive lineman Michael DeBose of Alabama and receiver Daylan McCutcheon of Texas.

Quote of the day

“I thought Dotson was a really good draft choice. I’m in the minority, I’m sure, but everything I say is based on tape study, I like Dotson just as a receiver more than I like Chris Olave, although I think Olave is in a phenomenal spot . . . But if you’re just talking about the traits, I happen to like Dotson more.”

NFL analyst Greg Cosell to The John Keim Report about former PSU receiver and new Washington Commander Jahan Dotson.
