Former Florida quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson will still be wearing a shade of orange and blue at his new school.

Del Rio-Wilson announced Monday that he’s transferring to Syracuse for the 2022 season. He has all four years of edibility remaining after redshirting at UF last fall as a true freshman.

Del Rio-Wilson went through spring ball with the Gators and first-year coach Billy Napier but was behind Anthony Richardson and Jack Miller on the depth chart. Gators Online first reported that Del Rio-Wilson was entering the transfer portal on April 19.

“Carlos was first-class for us,” Napier said. “I can’t compliment him enough. His work ethic. He was a good teammate. He’s done a really good job representing himself, his family, since he’s been at the University of Florida. Nothing but good things to say about him.”
