OHIO— According to CBS News, five Ohio cities made the top 65 list of deadliest places to live in America.
The list, according to reports, was compiled from the FBI’s 2019 crime statistics.
Coming in at number 57 is Toledo. CBS News says the murder rate in the city is 12.43 per 100,000 people.
According to the list, Akron takes the number 49 spot at 13.64 per 100,000 people. FBI statistics show that the homicide rate has decreased since 2018.
Cincinnati takes the 19th spot on the list at 21.19 and has seen an increase in homicides.
Cleveland makes the top 10 with 24.09, and Dayton takes the number 5 spot for deadliest cities in America with 34.18.
FBI analysts say the United States has seen an increase in violent crime over the last three years.
