Twila Ann Springer, 73, was born on September 9, 1948, to parents Paul and DeEtta (Pearson) Madron in Broken Bow. She grew up on the Madron Ranch south of Seneca, and attended Thomas County High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1966. Twila attended Open Bible College in Des Moines, IA, where she earned degrees in Theology and Sacred Music. Twila played the piano and sang in her college choir group, as they toured the country. While in college, she met her future husband, Steven Springer. They were joined in marriage on August 22, 1969 at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford.

They raised three children - Melodie, Rourke, and Scott - as they pastored churches in Seneca; Pontiac, MI; Mason City, IA; and Kearney. Twila enjoyed playing the piano and had secretarial and bookkeeping duties for the churches. They moved to Texas where Twila enjoyed a bookkeeping career with Washcare Corporation. She taught a college and career Sunday School class for years, enjoying games and bowling outings. While in Texas, Twila also began taking Spanish classes at the Junior College to further her education.

After moving back to Thedford, she gave piano lessons and played for church, cared for her grandfather and parents, taught at the Thedford Schools, and did bookkeeping for her son Rourke in Valentine. She soon became known as Gaga to her grandchildren and loved having them for multiple day visits, playing games and running errands around town. She also enjoyed going to Husker football games with her son-in-law Marc. Twila’s meals and desserts and the time she spent visiting around the dinner table will be remembered by everyone who visited the house. Twila always loved spending time with family and friends, and her laugh is remembered by everyone that knew her.

Twila is survived by husband Steven Springer; children Melodie (Marcus) Suarez, Rourke (Bethany) Springer, and Scott (Briana) Springer; sister Connie (Jim) Pierson; sister-in-law Glenadine (Leonard) Daugherty, brother-in-law Larry (Marilyn) Springer; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren Elliana, Sean, Grant, Hadley, and Wyatt.

She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and DeEtta Madron as well as her brother Rourke Madron; sister-in-law Marlene Madron; niece and nephew Janae and Rendle Madron; and brother-in-law Gary Springer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford with Pastor Paul Maunu officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Bethel Assembly of God Kids Club.
