There are still plenty of former Kansas City Chiefs players available on the open market and hoping to find the right place to play in 2022.

At this point in the offseason, the majority of free agents have signed in new places, and the biggest names that were once on the open market are now getting used to new environs. The NFL saw a tremendous number of well-known faces changing teams this offseason, either to free agency or trades, and the dust has now settled on the bulk of those moves.

The Kansas City Chiefs made a few signings that moved the meter this offseason, including safety Justin Reid, wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster, and running back Ronald Jones. They also lost safety Tyrann Mathieu to the Saints and Charvarius Ward to the 49ers.

While the action has died down for the most part and very few big names remain, the truth is that there are still some solid veteran players available for a team to consider—even some at important positions. Some of those very names are former Chiefs players themselves, which has us interested in where they might end up and rooting for them to find a good place to call home for the ’22 season–assuming they still want to play.

Let’s take a look at a few familiar faces who have surprised us by their availability at this stage in free agency.
