HOLDEN (WGME) -- Police say they made the largest drug bust in Holden’s history.
Holden police say they pulled over a car for a routine traffic stop on Sunday and discovered a gun, cash, heroin, Xanax, and a lot of fentanyl.
The street value of the drugs is more than $45,000.
Police then arrested 29-year-old David Rowland of Stonington and 28-year-old Alex Hanna of Penobscot.
"To see that degree, that amount, 216 grams of fentanyl. We are talking about a pretty significant amount of fentanyl and that's a very dangerous drug,” Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley told WVII.
Rowland was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, violation of conditions of release, and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Hanna was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation and they expect more charges for both suspects.
