Oregon-Davis School Board Hires New Junior/Senior High School Principal

The Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School has a new principal.

Superintendent Bill Bennett said the search recently ended with a recommendation presented to the Oregon-Davis School Board Monday night.

“We had two rounds of interviews with approximately 11 candidates who applied for our Junior/Senior High School principal position,” stated Bennett. “During the second round, we brought back our top two candidates and the candidate that the committees, as well as myself, recommended was Ms. Emily DuVall.”

Bennett said DuVall is coming to Oregon-Davis from the Monticello area where she taught 7th and 8th grade Introduction to Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, but she is not a stranger to Starke County.

“She spent her first seven years in education at North Judson-San Pierre teaching Junior High Ag, as well as an FFA sponsor there. This will be her first official principal position.  We welcome her back to Starke County and look forward to big things ahead,” Bennett said.

Emily DuVall will be taking over from B.J. Awald who took a position at Plymouth Community School Corporation.

DuVall will officially start July 1, but she will be at the school through the month of June to introduce herself and get ready for her first full year as Junior/Senior High School principal at Oregon-Davis.
