Suspect in custody after overnight assault near Eau Claire motel
Police surrounded the Regency Inn & Suites after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Law enforcement responded to a report of a stabbing at an Eau Claire motel late Tuesday night.
Police surrounded the Regency Inn & Suites on South Hastings Way after 10 p.m. Tuesday and were on the scene for more than five hours.
Officers and EMS were first called to Wisco’s Bar & Eatery, and then dozens of officers made their way to the motel. The details of the incident they responded to have not been released, but police have confirmed the suspect in this case is now in custody. The Eau Claire Police Department said that the incident is isolated.
No other information was made immediately available. An update is expected later Wednesday or Thursday.
