A 35-year-old woman died while at the Washington County jail Tuesday less than 24 hours after arriving there, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Crystal Leuenberger died at about 2:40 a.m.

The sheriff’s office said the cause of her death has not yet been determined. The state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.

The Washington County Major Crimes Team is investigating.
