I-70 to be resurfaced between Edson and Brewster
The Kansas Department of Transportation began working this week on a resurfacing project on approximately 9 miles of I-70 in northwest Kansas.
Project activity includes a mill and overlay on the westbound and eastbound driving lanes and eastbound shoulder starting near Edson in Sherman County and ending at Brewster in Thomas County.
During construction, I-70 traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone with a decreased speed limit. Minor delays not exceeding 5 minutes should be anticipated. KDOT expects work to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
APAC Kansas Inc., Shears Division, of Hutchinson is the primary contractor for the project with a total contract cost of approximately $4.9 million.
