Rogers wins State Rep. District 60 Republican Primary run-off

With all of the votes counted in the new Texas House of Representatives District 60 race in the Republican Primary Run-0ff, incumbent Glenn Rogers came out ahead of his opponent Mike Olcott by 752 votes.

According to the Texas Secretary of State’s Election Results webpage (unofficial results), with all 77 precincts in Stephens, Palo Pinto and Parker counties reporting, Rogers received 9,261 (52.12%) votes,  and Olcott received 8,509 (47.88%).

In Stephens County, Rogers received the most votes with 731 (72%) to Olcott’s 284 (28%). In Palo Pinto County, Rogers received 73% of the votes, according to the Mineral Wells Area News. In Parker County, Olcott came out ahead with 7,383 votes (54.12%) to Rogers’ 6.259 (45.88%), according to the Secretary of State’s page.

The House District 60 race is the only local/regional race on the Stephens County ballot. Other races on the ballots included Attorney General, Commissioner of the General Land Office, Railroad Commissioner, Lt. Governor and Comptroller of Public Accounts, depending on the political party.
