More than 30 people were displaced after a fire ripped through several Harrisburg row homes on Tuesday night, according to the city.

Harrisburg spokesman Matt Maisel said fire crews were called to a home in the 2400 block of Reel Street in Uptown just before 8:30 p.m. for a second-floor air conditioner on fire.

The fire spread through and damaged seven row homes, Maisel said. Four of the row homes had what firefighters considered “major damage.”

The fire was under control by 8:55 p.m., Maisel said. There were no injuries reported.

Harrisburg mayor Wanda Williams, who lives in the area, went to the scene and spoke with families impacted by the fire and the Red Cross, which is assisting the displaced families. The fire remains under investigation, and the cost of the damage has not yet been determined.
