Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has been selected to the All-NBA Third Team for the second time in his 19-year career. In doing so, LeBron extends his record steak of consecutive All-NBA team selection to 18.

At age 37, in his 19th season, LeBron averaged the second-most points in the NBA this season (30.3) — his highest output since 2005-06. He hit the 50-point mark twice in March — despite a sore left knee — and Frank Vogel repeatedly cited him as a rare bright spot amid a disastrous 33-49 season for Los Angeles.

LeBron shot 52.4% from the field and 35.9% from three-point range on a career-high eight attempts per game.

James added 8.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 37.2 minutes(!) per game. From December on, LeBron often shifted to center (and roll man) for the first time in his career. He was limited to 56 games primarily due to a combination of injuries (abdomen, knee, ankle).

It's just the second time in LeBron's career that he's been selected to the Third Team (2018-19). James was the only member of the Third Team to receive First Team votes (two).

LeBron — who said he felt his scoring ability is historically underappreciated — averaged at least 25 PPG for the 18th straight year, also a record.

James made history in March by passing Karl Malone to move into second on the NBA's all-time regular-season points list. He's expected to pass Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 2022-23. In February, LeBron eclipsed Kareem on the all-time scoring list including playoffs.

The Lakers star was joined on the Third Team by Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young, and Toronto Raptors wing Pascal Siakam.
