Many wondered if there would be retaliation from the Rangers after Carolina’s Max Domi hit Ryan Lindgren from behind in the closing seconds of New York’s game three win on Sunday.
The retaliation came from Jacob Trouba, who leveled Domi in the first period, then fought Steven Lonrentz after he came to Domi’s defense.
Trouba received a five minute major for fighting, while NHL Twitter raged on in debate over Trouba, who many called “dirty” and that his hit on Domi was the continuation of unsafe and dirty plays by the Blueshirts defenseman.
