Draymond Green and Steve Kerr have been working together with the Golden State Warriors for about eight years now, and sure enough, they have already built that trust in each other to make things work.

The Warriors have been through the highest of highs during their dominant championship run that yielded three titles, as well as the lowest of lows after missing the playoffs in the previous two seasons. Through all that, Green shared how their relationship from being a player and a coach has evolved into some sort of partnership.

Green expresses his thoughts when he wants and needs to, and Kerr listens. Obviously, that has worked wonders for the Warriors.

“We’re at the point now that Steph’s 13 (seasons) in, I’m 10 in,” Draymond said, per The Athletic. “We’ve all been together eight years (with Kerr). We trust what the coaches say, they trust what we see. It’s a partnership. They do obviously 99.8 percent of the game plan. Then, if we have input, they take our input. We like to put our brains together, give them thoughts on what we’re feeling on the court, which sometimes can be a little different than what they’re seeing. And then try to make it all work together.”

Steve Kerr, for his part, has nothing but respect for Draymond Green. He knows and appreciates what the defensive guru brings to the table, and the fact that they “see the game the same way” makes their partnership even better.

“I’ve always had a defensive mindset, which is ironic because I wasn’t much of a defender. But I want to start out every game making a defensive stand. And that’s who Draymond is; he’s the ultimate defender,” Kerr added.

True enough, that partnership they call has been in full display in their Western Conference Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks. When discussing about giving rookie Moses Moody some playing time after barely suiting up in the first two rounds, Green apparently figured out what his coach was thinking and immediately agreed.

The Warriors' tactical changes and strategies have definitely worked, as they are now up 3-0 against the Mavs with a real chance of sweeping things in Game 4.

Perhaps when he is done with his career, Green can also coach and start as an assistant for Kerr? That would definitely be amazing!
