Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Brooke Hathaway and Ollie Morgan bid an emotional final goodbye to their young son Thierry in this evening's (May 24) visit to Hollyoaks.
Having given him up for adoption back in 2020, and after struggling with the crushing guilt of doing so ever since, Ollie recently arranged to reunite with Thierry at the local park, supervised by his new family and a social worker.
Despite the Morgan clan urging him to inform Brooke of this plan, Ollie ultimately decided to keep it to himself, but Cindy Cunningham soon stuck her foot in it by revealing the news to Brooke anyway.

Brooke confronted Ollie as he awaited Thierry's arrival, but just as they were walking away from the meeting, their son and his adoptive parents appeared on the scene.
As Luke Morgan, who'd been invited by Ollie to meet his grandson for the very first time, spent some quality time with Thierry, Ollie thanked Zoe and Mal for bringing him to visit and explained that it was Luke's last chance to see his grandson.
After Luke caused a fracas at the coffee counter and everyone immediately rushed to intervene, however, they returned to find that both Brooke and Thierry had gone missing.
Later, it was revealed that Brooke had taken Thierry to the fountain to spend some time with him alone, and they took the opportunity to pour their heart out as Thierry played with his toys.
"It's never just been us before," Brooke told Thierry. "Even when I had you at the hospital there were all these people around, and when they asked if I wanted to say goodbye, I said no.
"I think I was just trying to protect myself from what I'd feel in this situation. but it's here now."

Soon after, a stressed-out Ollie turned up, eager to return the toddler to his worried parents, and Brooke decided to join Ollie so that they could say goodbye to Thierry together.
By the end of the episode, Thierry was safely returned to Mal and Zoe's care, and Brooke and Ollie were given the chance to say goodbye to their son.
"Thank you for showing me what it means to love someone so much that you have to let them go," Brooke told him.
How about this for some soap trivia: did you know that Tylan Grant's real-life parents David and Carrie Grant played Thierry's adoptive parents?
