CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – A heavy traffic area got untenable for about two hours this afternoon after a sinkhole opened up on westbound Hydraulic Road in the right lane in front of the Whole Foods. Crews have done a temporary fix to get traffic flowing back in that lane after backfilling and using a steel plate opening the lane back up. It had been closed between Brandywine and Hillsdale.

The city is working with an on-call contractor to determine the cause then implement a permanent repair. They hope to have this work scheduled and coordinated within the next week.

Jerry Seinfeld’s commitment to the bit

Jerry Seinfeld has been responsible for more movies than you think. Yes, he co-wrote and lent his voice to 2007's "Bee Movie." But before that, "Seinfeld" — where going to the movies, with or without the aid of Moviefone, was nearly as regular a destination as the coffee shop — gave birth to dozens of (fake) films.
