Six Pueblo girls qualify for Class 4A state golf championships at Southern regionals

Six Pueblo girls golfers qualified for the Class 4A state high school championships on Monday.

The girls earned their shot to play in the two-day state tournament May 31 and June 1 at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction by qualifying in the Class 4A Southern Regionals at Walking Stick Golf Course.

South-Central League champion Sofia Contreras, a freshman from Pueblo Central, led the Pueblo contingent. She finished 10th with a 91.

Also qualifying were Gianna Nardina of Pueblo West, who finished 13th with a 96; Samanatha Hansen of Pueblo County, 15th at 97; Kylie Sergejev of Pueblo West, 18th at 104; Gracie Soto of Pueblo East, 19th at 105, and Alexis Roblek of Pueblo County, 21st at 109.

Discovery Canyon won the regional team title with Cheyenne Mountain finishing second.
