Vermilion Advantage President and CEO Tim Dudley says when he first arrived to take over the combined economic development and chamber organization, there was something he noticed about the Vermilion County area.
AUDIO: The thing that I really liked about being able to come here was even when I was interviewing I could see the passion of all the people, about how much they loved Danville. And I thought, “man, I really want to be a part of that.” So, after my first interview I really, really wanted the job; and then I figured I wouldn’t get it.
But get the job, he did. Dudley recently joined Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection, and he says with the Golden Nugget Casino coming to Eastgate Drive, he sees a whole new future for the Lynch Road area off I-74.
AUDIO: I think you’re going to see a real spur of growth around the I-74 exchange out there at Lynch Road. I really believe that the Lynch Road exit is going to become a destination point. Because with a casino here you’re going to bring people in from Indiana; and all around Danville; northern parts, western parts, southern parts. And that’s going to be a real spur right there.
Dudley also says, all aboard everyone, the future looks bright.
AUDIO: It doesn’t matter who you are. And I encourage anyone that’s out there that wants to be part of it to come on board, we’ve got room for you on the train; let’s get it moving down the tracks.
Dudley also stated that the COVID pandemic did do one thing for sure. It gave everyone a more “can do” attitude in working together.
