Rangers enforcer Ryan Reaves made it clear on Monday that he intends to up the physicality in game four after calling out Carolina’s Max Domi for his crosscheck on Ryan Lindgren in the closing seconds of New York’s game three win on Sunday.

Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour isn’t just expecting that response from Reaves. He’s welcoming it.

“I would hope,” Brind’Amour said, via the New York Post, in response to Reaves’ comments that he was going to “go run some people” in game four. “I don’t know what he’s waiting for. Everybody’s gonna do what they do this time of year.”

Head coach Gerard Gallant certainly didn’t like the “bulls--t” from Domi at the end of game three, and while Reaves hasn’t been much of a factor in the series so far, that likely will change in game four on Tuesday night.

Carolina is expecting the physicality to increase, but the team maintains that it didn’t see anything wrong with Domi’s hit on Lindgren that may have changed the nature of the series.

“It’s playoffs. It’s pretty normal to get hit or make a hit,” Sebastian Aho said. “It’s intense and fast and it’s a battle out there. It’s nothing new there. I’m not surprised if I get hit in a playoff game. Obviously gotta be ready for it, but like I said, it’s a battle out there.”
