(KNSI) — There is a heavy police presence around a St. Cloud apartment building after one shot was fired as a warrant was being served there Tuesday morning.

The St. Cloud Police Department says officers knocked and announced their presence and a suspect threatened officers through the closed door. A short time later, they say the suspect discharged a weapon once inside the apartment. No other shots have been fired. There are no known injuries at this time and negotiations are ongoing.

The apartment building has been evacuated and police have set up a perimeter set up to keep people safe. Oak Grove Road and Goettens Way are closed. The block around the apartment building is also closed off.

The public is asked to please stay away from the area.
