State Police Calls: DUI, Theft by Deception

Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in North Mahoning Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 119 South in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County, on Thursday, May 19, around 5:20 p.m.

According to the report, the operator of a 2002 Dodge Dakota appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

Criminal charges are pending.

The driver’s name was not released.

Theft by Deception

PSP Punxsutawney received a report of an identity theft which took place sometime between Friday, April 8, around 8:00 a.m., and Saturday, May 14, around 2:05 p.m. in the area of Patchin Highway, Burnside Township, Clearfield County.

According to police a known 24-year-old Cherry Tree woman’s driver license was stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.
