The Republican Party of Anderson County will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26.

Tennessee Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, R-Oak Ridge, will be the guest speaker as the GOP members “Continue the Push” toward the Aug. 4 elections, stated a news release.

McNally has represented the 5th Senate district for over 30 years while also working as a pharmacist at Methodist Medical Center until 2010. His bio at www.capitol.tn.gov states his passion became the Finance, Ways and Means Committee while he was serving as a state representative for Anderson County.

He carried that passion forward becoming known as a “finance and budget expert,” making his greatest impact on the state by making sure the budget is kept in balance with its “Triple-A” credit rating, the release stated.

In 2017 he was elected as Speaker of the Senate, which also carries the additional title and office of lieutenant governor making him first in line to step in as governor should anything unexpected occur with Gov. Lee.

The meeting will be held at the Clinton Church of God,  635 Hillcrest St. The community is welcome to attend, and chairwoman Myra Mansfield will answer any questions at (865) 712-8027.
