The Waterloo Columbus girls tennis team defeated Decorah 5-0 in its Class 1A first round State Tournament match held yesterday in Independence.
The Sailors advance to the semifinals for the 34th time in the 39 years the tournament has been played.
The Sailors will next play June 1st at Waveland Courts in Des Moines.
