Missouri man dies after ejected in 3-vehicle crash

CLAY COUNTY— A Missouri man died in an accident just after 10a.m. Monday in Clay County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Dodge passenger vehicle driven by Richard A. Dobbins, 30, Excelsior Springs, was westbound on U.S. 69 at North Jesse James Road.

The driver failed to yield at a lighted intersection. The Dodge struck a northbound 2012 Nissan passenger vehicle driven by Michael P. Neary, 32, Lawson, on the passenger side. The Nissan then struck a southbound 2019 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by John W. Weber, 54, Cameron. 

After impact the Dodge overturned in the ditch and the driver was ejected.

Dobbins was pronounced dead at the scene and released to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported Weber to Mosaic Life Care.  Neary was not injured. Dobbins was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
