Officials in Beaufort said a sedan crashed through the front of the Austin Veterinary Animal Hospital on Professional Park Drive just before 9 a.m.
Coleman Taylor was at the animal hospital waiting for his dog Mitsy to be treated for an eye infection.
“I was sitting right her on the wall, and all of a sudden, wherp, boom,” he said, “I said, ‘Somebody’s run into the building.’ My chair kinda shaked like that a little bit and everybody come running out, sure enough. The lady was shaken up. Probably went for that gas instead of the brake.”
The accident remains under investigation, but officials said it appears the driver pulling into a parking spot in front of the business hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
