One teen dead, one injured in rollover crash near Beatrice

GAGE COUNTY, Neb. —
One teen is dead and another injured after a crash between Beatrice and Blue Springs.

The Gage County Sheriff's Office said emergency crews were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover at around 6 p.m. Saturday at South 36th and Locust Roads.
An investigation determined that a car was traveling at a high rate of speed before it left the roadway and rolled.
Authorities said the two occupants of the car, Keilan Schultz, 17, and Billy O'Keefe Jr., 18, both of Wymore were ejected from the vehicle.
Schultz died at the scene, while O'Keefe Jr. was taken to a Lincoln hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries.

The sheriff's office said seatbelts were not in use at the time, and the investigation is ongoing.
