(WWJ) – Two teens who were arrested in Livonia on Friday in connection with a shooting outside of a high school graduation ceremony in West Michigan the day prior have been arraigned on weapons charges.

Shaakir Abdulwahab and Jacqui Hill, both 18-year-olds from Grand Rapids, were arraigned on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon and bringing a gun to a weapon-free school zone.

Abdulwahab and Hill are being held at the Kent County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Neither teen has been charged with the shooting itself, which sent a 40-year-old Grand Rapids  area woman and a 16-year-old boy from Texas to the hospital. Boh victims are expected to recover.

It all unfolded around 7:40 p.m. on May 19 as the Crossroads Alternative High School graduation ceremony was wrapping up at the East Kentwood High School football stadium.

Authorities said a group of suspects in a white Hyundai sedan pulled up and fired shots at another group of people, who fired back at the car as it sped away.

The two victims were innocent bystanders in the shooting.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office says there are eight suspects in total. The KCSO released a photo showing five of them around the time of the shooting.

It's not clear whether Abdulwahab and Hill were in the Hyundai or on foot at the time of the shooting.

A motive in the incident has not been released, and it remains unclear why the suspects were in Livonia when they were arrested.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or knows something about the shooting is asked to call the KCSO at 616.632.6125.
