WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Becky Lynch earns her way into Hell in a Cell title match

WWE

Last week's Raw ended with Becky Lynch losing to Asuka after being misted in the eyes. On Monday night, Lynch received the opportunity to gain some measure of revenge, along with an opportunity to earn herself a title shot at the upcoming Hell in a Cell event.

Lynch would come out on top in her rematch with Asuka, making the Hell in a Cell match a triple threat match for Bianca Belair's Raw women's championship. Hell in a Cell takes place on June 5 from Chicago.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.

Becky Lynch wins her way into Hell in a Cell title shot

Lynch confronted WWE official Adam Pearce backstage, saying her loss to Asuka should be stricken from the record after Asuka used mist to defeat her. Pearce said he wouldn't do that, nor would he bend to Lynch's demand that she replace Asuka in the Raw women's title match with Bianca Belair at Hell in a Cell. He would, however, grant her a rematch and add her to the match at Hell in a Cell should she win.

Becky Lynch def. Asuka via pinfall with a roll-up. Lynch caused chaos outside the ring where Belair was watching the match. As Lynch was seated on Belair's lap, Asuka threw a kick that struck the champion instead of Lynch. Lynch then attacked Asuka, leaving her to have to beat the 10-count. She was able to roll into the ring at the count of nine but rolled right into a Lynch pin.

The show largely focused on building up Hell in a Cell, which makes sense. Asuka vs. Belair would have been a stellar match. Adding Lynch feels unnecessary, but WWE struggles to really remove certain stars from the title picture. The real issue, however, may simply be that Asuka and Lynch have deserved more time for their match for two weeks in a row. All that said, every woman in the angle is pulling their weight and the payoff at Hell in a Cell will likely be a very good match. Grade: B
