ROCKLAND — A 30-year-old man from Waterford was ordered not to return to Knox County during a bail hearing after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman in her Rockland home.

John Everett Larson, Jr., was arrested early Friday morning May 20 by Rockland Police and charged with domestic violence assault, obstructing report of a crime, and violation of a condition of release.

Larson made his initial appearance later on the same day before Justice Bruce Mallonee, who set his bail at $500 cash. The bail conditions include that Larson cannot return to Knox County except for legal appointments and be on supervised release.

According to the affidavit filed in court by Rockland police, officers were notified of a domestic violence report at residence on Rankin Street at approximately 12:01 a.m. May 20. The victim, who is pregnant, told police that after she told the man to leave her home, he got on top of her and put his hands over her mouth and nose.

The victim said that she had difficulty breathing but did not receive any injuries requiring medical attention.

Police obtained a temporary arrest warrant for Larson.

A few hours later, police were notified that a second incident domestic incident occurred when Larson returned to the victim’s residence and pulled the victim’s hair from behind and pushed her against a dresser, according to the police report.

Larson was apprehended at the residence and transported to the Knox County Jail where he remained until his hearing.  

He will appear in court again June 23 for a dispositional conference.
