Star Wars: Brotherhood, a new novel about Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi prior to Revenge of the Sith, features numerous Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Easter eggs. When Disney acquired the Star Wars IP from series creator George Lucas, a huge chunk of the Star Wars canon was wiped out, and of course, that includes the critically-acclaimed 2004 videogame Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Originally released as an Xbox exclusive developed by BioWare and published by Lucasarts, the beloved RPG series is considered to be one of the best Star Wars stories ever told outside the mainline films, but now, its story holds less weight.
However, Star Wars: Brotherhood author Mike Chen included various references to the game, which is set 4,000 years before the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. Over on Twitter, Chen shared some insights into the important details and Easter Eggs in his novel, confirming some nods to the RPG despite the fact they're no longer considered canon.
The first connection shows that Anakin commandeers a freighter ship that's in the same class as the Ebon Hawk, the ship featured in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The novel aso features a bouncer droid at a racetrack that's a reconfigured HK droid, similar to HK-47 assassin droid in KOTOR.
With a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake in the works for PlayStation 5 and PC, and potential plans for a KOTOR movie and/or TV show, it's likely that we might see a lot of lore details from the original game added to the canon.
