The City of Douglas and Douglas-Coffee County Parks and Recreation invites the public to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Davis-Wade Park, Miracle Field, and the new Roger C. Johnson Swimming Pool.
“I am so excited to see this project completed,” says Mayor Tony Paulk. “It is going to be a special day for many in our community. Now, all citizens will be able to enjoy the amenities at Davis Wade Park.”
The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00 AM, followed by self-guided tours of the facilities.
Special needs children and adults will have access to the Miracle Field. The pool will open for Open Swim on May 31 at 1:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 for Open Swim.
Improvements at Davis-Wade Park began in July 2021 and were completed in April of this year.
Davis-Wade Park now has an 8-lane swimming pool, Miracle Field, pool house, splash pad, ADA playground, and tennis courts.
Donations from local citizens, Premium Waters, ESG Operations, Waste Industries, Southwire, Douglas Lions Club, and other private donors have contributed to raising over $38,000 for the Miracle Field.
