In Nebraska, a man who was attempting to save a cat's life lost his when he was struck by a pickup truck and killed on a highway on Thursday night.
Claude Taylor, 63, was identified as the pedestrian attempting to save the cat on a highway located south of Holdrege in south-central Nebraska at around 9:20 p.m., according to the Nebraska State Patrol, Omaha.com.
A spokesman for the patrol, Cody Thomas, shared that the patrol was notified that a pickup truck, driven by Jeremy Poindexter, 42, had struck Taylor on the highway.
First responders arrived on the scene, and after attempting life-saving measures, Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
The crash is still under investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol at this time.
