Watch: Halls man catches Emory Road wrecks on camera, pleads with drivers to slow down

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Halls man is asking drivers on Emory Road to slow down after his outdoor camera caught multiple wrecks this month at the intersection in front of his home.

Nic Tallent said the intersection on Emory Road at Brown Gap Road has been the site of at least 4 wrecks recently — all captured on his security camera. All of these wrecks have taken place on Emory Road when drivers who are slowed or stopped to turn onto Brown Gap Road are struck from behind by vehicles by vehicles that show no sign of slowing down.

The wrecks are not only causing damage to vehicles, but also the telephone pole on the side of the street. Tallent said the pole has been replaced three to four times this year already.

Tallent added this area normally has a few accidents a year, but three of the four wrecks he has captured have been in the month of May. He said residents want improvements made to the area.

Motorists driving down the road are either going well above the speed limit, or not paying attention, he said.
