The final trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 is everything everyone who follows the show wants it to be – exciting, thrilling, horrifying, and interesting, and notably, Sadie Sink’s Max has been seen to float above the grave of her brother, Billy Hargrove. Does she have powers now but how?
Why is Max Floating Above Billy's Grave in Stranger Things Season 4 Final Trailer?
In the third season of the series, Billy died when he was hit by the Mind Flayer and before all these happened, Billy got his mind corrupted already so technically, his soul is lost. Season 4 will feature more of Sadie Sink’s Max, even the producers calling her the emotional center of the show, and she is expected to be seen visiting her brother throughout the series.
However, this death of Billy Hargrove may, somewhat, be key to defeating the evils that haunt Hawkins. With his soul still lost and after he had been corrupted by The Mind Flayer, he could have knowledge with what the Hawkins gang are about to face and Max could be the way he could communicate with others.
Dacre Montgomery, the actor who plays Billy Hargrove, still plays the part even after his death so it can be expected to see him in Season 4, one way or another. The possible reason for Max to float is that she is communicating with Billy, her body remains but her consciousness makes her float.
Speaking with People, Sadie Sink played coy about why her character is floating and how important Max will be in the series, “"I can't say anything about the floating. That's a wild episode though."
Sink added how exciting it is to shoot Season 4, "We get to explore a lot of different themes and different sides of the characters that everyone knows and loves, so I'm looking forward to it."

Stranger Things Season 4 has been teased to have a horror movie vibe this season which will be divided into two with Volume 1 and 2. The first part will be dealing with events six months after what happened in Season 3 where the Hawkins gang fought the Mind Flayer at the Starcourt Mall and Jim Hopper had to sacrifice himself for the safety of his adoptive daughter, Eleven, and the others.
Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 will premiere on May 27, 2022, and Volume 2 will be out of July 1.
