We all know that way beyond Euphoria, Alexa Demie has the gift of trendsetting. Her cool-girl style regularly consists of monochrome, baby tees, baggie pants, and shades. On May 22, the star was spotted at Balenciaga’s Resort 2023 show in New York City, cementing her cool, throwback style with some unexpected anime vibes.

If you are a fan of My Hero Academia, you probably know the stylish superhero Best Jeanist. To those that don’t, here's a quick summary: Tsunagu Hakamada (aka Best Jeanist) is part of the Japanese superhero manga and anime series. One of the top in the top superheroes in Kōhei Horikoshi's fictional world, Best Jeanist's quirk allows him to control and manipulate the fibers in clothing, hence why his preferred uniform is denim on denim on denim. (The 100% fabric is the best for his quirk!)

If you have read the manga or seen the anime series, you'd know Best Jeanist's guise is unmissable — and perhaps the most notable detail is the belted denim dress shirt that covers his face, which almost makes it look like his pants extend all the way up.

Well, in true Best Jeanist fashion, and probably serendipitously, Alexa attended Balenciaga’s Resort 2023 show rocking an outfit fit for the superhero. The Euphoria star opted for a denim off-the-shoulder top tucked into matching baggy belted denim jeans with slicked back hair and shades.

The perfect setting to make that fashion statement. The Balenciaga Resort 2023 show took place at the New York Stock Exchange and was an all-star affair. Kanye, Alexa, and Frank Ocean all sat front row as the collection denoted luxurious streetwear while evidencing capitalism and consumption. Theatrics aside, the collection featured mostly all-black ensembles in what felt like street meets suites — including padded blazers, trenches, and tracksuits. The show also announced the long-rumored collaboration with Adidas, which unsurprisingly, already seems to be selling out.

Notably, this is not the first time Alexa made a fashion statement at a Balenciaga show. For the FW22 presentation, the actor revisited the skirt-over-pants Y2K trend with an all-black outfit complete with an off-the-shoulder black shirt and black skirt over cargo-style pants. Not only does Alexa make fashion statements, but she also has a knack for experimenting with different hairstyles too including short, slicked looks, bobs, and even micro fringes. We are living for this style evolution and all that is yet to come.

(And, seriously, if you haven't yet please watch My Hero Academia on Crunchyroll or Funimation to get to see Best Jeanist in action! After all, Megan Thee Stallion loves the show, so why wouldn't you?)
