Back in March, we told everyone that the Schlotzsky's on 82nd Street hadn't reopened as expected. We were worried it would stay closed for good. But this week we got some exciting news.

According to the location's signs and social media page, they closed down back at the end of February for new staff training and annual maintenance with plans to open back up on March 5th. Due to a terrible tragedy, that didn't happen.

On Monday, Schlotzsky's over by 82nd and Milwaukee confirmed it will re-open its doors to the Lubbock community on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022. For their big reopening, they're urging everyone to grab something to eat because they're giving 20 percent of all sales to the previous owner's widow.

You can tell from the pictures they did some renovations and are really ready to open back up. Everyone in Lubbock was really sad to see them go, so it's really great news that the popular location is back and serving the food Lubbock loves. I've personally been missing their sandwiches and pizzas.

Growing up in Austin, I went to Schlotzsky's all the time. It's such a great place for lunch. I love all their pizzas and their fiesta chicken sandwich. You can check out Schlotzsky's menu and get more information by heading over to their location at 6804 82nd Street Lubbock, Texas or by visiting the official Schlotzsky's website.
