Ole Miss RPI Tracker: Rebel Number Falls With SEC Tournament Conclusion
Ole Miss fell in the opening round of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday night, and a tournament champion was crowned on Sunday.
The Rebels' RPI has fluctuated throughout the week of play, and No. 1 seed Tennessee took home the title with a win on Sunday afternoon. Ole Miss entered the week with an RPI of 36, and its first-round exit solidified it as a bubble team entering Selection Monday of the NCAA Tournament.
The Rebels entered the tournament with a 14-16 conference record after dropping a home series to Texas A&M last weekend, and they were the No. 9 seed in Hoover, opening against the No. 8 Commodores. If Ole Miss had advanced out of Tuesday's bout with Vanderbilt, it would have moved on to the double elimination portion of the bracket and face the eventual-champion Tennessee Volunteers.
