Details on Delta drowing victim

DELTA, Colo. (KREX) — The Delta Police have released details on the man that drowned recently. At approximately 3:07 PM on May 22, 2022 officers were dispatched to Confluence Lake for a man that was swimming and hadn’t been seen in some time. The last sighting of the man was hours before when he was seen attempting to swim to the island on the west side of the lake. After the Delta Fire Department’s rescue boat was unable to locate anyone in the water or on the island Confluence Lake was shut down to the public around 4:30 PM.

After being notified, Delta County Search and Rescue responded with members, equipment, and boats. In addition, Colorado Parks and Wildlife also responded with a boat. The body was subsequently located after a short search using sonar. The body was found in about nine feet of water just west of the islands and has been identified as 31-year-old Deonta Pittman of Delta. No foul play has been suspected involving this incident.
