Volunteers are needed at Starved Rock State Park – whether you wield a hammer – or not.
Park Naturalist Lisa Sons says help is needed to remove damaged signs and install markers on the trails. But, if tools are not your thing, be a docent or simply walk the trails to assist visitors with directions or questions.
The park offers the opportunity to be a hike leader or simply help staff with special programs and directing volunteers. The Le Rocher Gift Shop always needs a hand. If you're interested, stop in at the Visitors Center.
