Mick Jagger calls resemblance to Harry Styles 'superficial'

According to the Rolling Stones singer, Harry Styles doesn't "move like Jagger."

If you know Harry Styles, you know he's a longtime fan of Mick Jagger. But the Rolling Stone legend is weighing in on the comparisons between him and the former One Direction star, and he doesn't think Styles "moves like Jagger" — physically or artistically.

"I mean, I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him," Jagger said in an interview with The Sunday Times while describing his "easy relationship" with the singer. "Come on, I was much more androgynous."

"He doesn't have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can't help that," Jagger added.

In addition to taking inspiration from the rock musician, Styles has been compared to Jagger for years thanks to his similar looks and penchant for not adhering to gender stereotypes, even portraying him in a Saturday Night Live sketch where he played "Celebrity Family Feud" while impersonating a 70's version of Jagger in a cream colored suit and blonde wig. And for the music video of his new single "As It Was," he took inspiration from Jagger's style with a red sequined jumpsuit.

"I've been really open with it with my friends, but that's my personal experience; it's mine," Styles recently told Better Homes and Gardens of exploring his sexuality with his style. "The whole point of where we should be heading, which is toward accepting everybody and being more open, is that it doesn't matter, and it's not about having to label everything, not having to clarify what boxes you're checking."
