Last month, Dorchester Paws shared a video showing a man dropping a dog and her eight babies at the end of their long driveway before immediately leaving.
While the roughly 4-week-old puppies were crated, the mother dog was dropped with a sheet covering her. The mother dog can be seen circling her puppies for about 10 minutes and then fleeing into the nearby woods when a staff member noticed her. After an hour, the mother was rescued.
The mother- named Liberty- immediately went to foster care, where she was able to recover from mastitis due to bacterial infection. She was cleared last week and "given a clean bill of health," plus a spay. The foster ended up adopting Liberty.
According to Dorchester Paws, the family says Liberty "is not a foster failure, she was just meant to be."
Five of the eight puppies were adopted over the weekend.
The three left are up for adoption. The adoption fee is $350. The dogs are microchipped, vaccinated and on monthly preventatives.
