(670 The Score) Just a few months after breaking the Bears’ single-season sacks record, veteran pass rusher Robert Quinn could be looking for a trade out of Chicago to a contender.
As the Bears look to rebuild their roster and contend in future seasons, a deal of the 32-year-old Quinn could bring Chicago more draft capital and salary cap flexibility moving forward.
So what could the Bears get in return for Quinn? Chicago Tribune reporter Brad Biggs was asked that on the Mully & Haugh Show on Monday morning.
“I don’t think he’s got as much value as Khalil Mack,” Biggs said. “I don’t think he’d bring back a second- and a third-round pick like the Denver Broncos got for Von Miller this past year, but that was a deal that’s a little bit difficult to compare because the Denver Broncos paid down Von Miller’s contract by $9 million to facilitate the deal. So, it’s not necessarily apples and oranges there. But I do think you can get something solid in return for a healthy Robert Quinn, and he’s been durable certainly over the last five years of his career.”
Quinn produced a Pro Bowl season in 2021, when he recorded 18.5 sacks over 17 games for Chicago. He broke Richard Dent’s franchise record of 17.5 sacks.
In March, the Bears traded fellow edge rusher Mack to the Chargers for a 2022 second-round pick and 2023 sixth-round pick. That second-round pick was used to select safety Jaquan Brisker.
