The Washington County Commissioners unanimously approves a grant application for a staging area for trailer supplies in their regular meeting.

Washington County Emergency Management's (WCEM) Melissa Mayes says the $6,000 grant is from Oklahoma Emergency Management (OEM). Mayes says the grant is for staging trailer supplies, which will be used during disasters and wildfires. She says WCEM will be able to teach staging area protocols with area agencies as well.

Next in the meeting, the Commissioners would approve an application for federal assistance for hazard mitigation and commitment letter to OEM. WCEM's Eric Ashlock says this is a revision to an item the Board has already approved. Ashlock says they would be able to cover up to the 25-percent cap on the costs to install storm shelters. He says this includes anything under $3,333. Most shelters run for $4,000.

A software services agreement between Just Appraised, Inc., and the Washington County Assessor's Office would then be approved by the Board. Assessor Todd Mathes says this item includes a change in the contract that was originally approved in April. Mathes says they only struck out a portion of the contract that would cause an automatic renewal of the agreement. He says they will revisit this $18,000 item year-by-year, unless it doesn't save them time and resources. The first year is based on a trial basis.

Other items approved in the meeting include:

-----

A letter to Orion Security Services regarding law enforcement services agreement and memorandum of understanding from Sheriff Scott Owen.

Letters to Kristie Hatlestad, James French and Ashley Hambright regarding Free Fair Board. Hatlestad has resigned her post from the Free Fair, while French and Hambright are newcomers.

Letter to Dr. Notie Lansford, Department of Ag Econ, OSU, from the Board of Commissioners regarding Free Fair Board Training.

A resolution regarding donation from Phillips 66/ConocoPhillips in the amount of $4,750 for the Washington County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team.

Washington County Sheriff's Office report and/or verification for claims for Board of Prisoners for the months of February, March and April 2022.

The Washington County Commissioners will meet again on Tuesday, May 31, at 9:30 a.m. at 400 S. Johnstone Avenue in Bartlesville. They will have Monday off in observance of Memorial Day weekend.
