ST. LOUIS – One person was shot multiple times Monday outside a home daycare near Nipher Middle School in Kirkwood.
Police arrived at a residence at about 10:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Angenette for a report of shots fired. Officers found a person in the front yard who’d been shot multiple times. The victim was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
One person is in custody related to this incident.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting but, according to the victim’s family, the suspect and victim knew one another and the incident was domestic in nature.
The Kirkwood Police Department said, “There is no safety concern to the surrounding neighborhoods, and the initial investigation indicates this was an isolated incident.”
Around eight children were at the home daycare at the time of the shooting.
