The Royal Opera House Announces ‘Biggest Cinema Season Ever’ in 2022-23

The Royal Opera House Covent Garden has announced its cinema slate for the 2022-23 season.

For the purposes of this article, we will only spotlight the opera productions. The first performance will be presented live while the second date will feature an encore retransmission.

Kicking off the “biggest Cinema Season ever” for the company will be “Madama Butterfly.

Screening Dates: Sept. 27 & Oct. 2, 2022

That will be followed up by “Aida.”

Screening Dates: Oct. 12 & 16, 2022

Closing up a busy October will be “La Bohème.”

Screening Dates: Oct. 20 & 23, 2022

The first cinema screening of 2023 will be Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville.”

Screening Dates: Feb. 15 & 19, 2023

Next up is “Turandot.”

Screening Dates: March 22 & 26, 2023

That will be followed up by “Le Nozze di Figaro,” which was recorded in January 2022.

Screening Dates: April 27 & 30, 2023

Ending the season will be “Il Trovatore.”

Screening Dates: June 13 & 18, 2023
