Rain predicted into Wednesday

Wichita Falls and parts of North Texas may get some much-needed rain over the next few of days.

The National Weather Service predicts Wichita Falls could get two to three inches of rain through Tuesday. If so, that would go a long way toward relieving a five-inch deficit in normal rainfall for this time of year. Parts of Wichita County and points west are currently in an extreme drought.

Thunderstorms are in the forecast through Wednesday with small hail and strong winds presenting the greatest threat. The tornado risk is considered low. Temperatures will stay relatively cool through Wednesday and are forecast to rise into the 90s by the weekend.
